Your class teachers RG Miss Gilbey & Mrs Bellfield RR Mrs Ouko & Mrs Zito

Daily procedures • • Soft start Electronic register taken at 8. 55 am Lesson starts at 9 am End of the day: collection at classroom. Please ensure that you inform the school if a different family member is collecting your child. • Late – Rainbow room – ground floor

What are we learning this year? Please see the curriculum overview for the topics we cover this term. These include; ‘Myself’, ‘Weather’, ‘Space’ as well as festivals such as Harvest, Diwali and Christmas. We will send further information about what your child will be learning at the start of each term. This will all be on the website.

Behaviour policy • Rewards system – House points - Raffle prizes - Well done certificates - Sunflower awards • Attendance • Sanctions – behaviour chart

Homework • Given out on Thursday. Due back on Tuesday. • What When Either English/Maths/Topic Reading Once a week

Please hear your child read daily!

Reading • Reading books will be changed every Monday. • Children are encouraged to borrow a school library book. • Our library day is Wednesday. • If a library book is lost, please donate a book to the school.

Phonics SETs We will set the children for phonics around October half term. This will enable us to support the children even further and cater for their needs.

Assessment • On going teacher assessments throughout the year • Marking Policy – Green, Pink & Purple. • Parents will be given an update at each termly meeting of the progress across their child’s school life, socially and academically.

School trips We have a number of learning opportunities during the year and this will include 1 outside of school trip in the summer term. If we require parent/carers helpers it will be on the slip. We will give a slip to confirm if we would like your support on the trip.

School Uniform • Children to have school uniforms clearly labelled with their name. • Please refer to the hand-out for information. • Miss Rodriguez will be in contact if children are not wearing the correct uniform.

P. E Please make sure your child has a full P. E. kit for all weathers. Reception have P. E. on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Christmas Nativity At the end of the Autumn term RG and RR will be performing a Nativity.

Punctuality and attendance • Electronic register • Attendance cup – Early Bird competition – Any child who is always on time are put into a raffle. And can win a Lego voucher. • Club 98 Competition Any child who has attendance of 98%+ is also put into a raffle to win a prize. • Lessons start at 9 am

How Parents can help • • PE Kit - have it in school Bring homework to school on time Bring reading books/library books daily Encourage a good night’s sleep, have a nutritious breakfast and bring a water bottle. • Be punctual.

If you need us… • We are all here to help, please catch us after school once all children are dismissed. • If information is confidential a meeting will have to be arranged. • Or email the school office to arrange a meeting or to give information. • Please inform the office with your contact details.

Home school agreement Please read as we have updated it from last year. You will only need to sign and return if your child is new to the school. Please get this from the office.

Water bottles Bring me in daily! • Children are encouraged to drink regularly throughout the day.
