Food&Feed Traceability in Serbia – Legal basis Food Safety Law (Official Gazette RS, No 41/2009) ØArticle 4 – Definitions: • “Traceability” shall mean the ability to trace a food, feed, food-producing animal, raw materials or substances intended to be, or expected to be incorporated into food or feed, at all stages of production, processing and circulation Belgrade, 24 -25 Jan 2012
Food&Feed Traceability in Serbia – Legal basis Food Safety Law (OG RS, No 41/2009) ØArticle 32 – F&FBO’s obligations: • Traceability – at all stages of food&feed production, processing and circulation • Identify each operator from which it procures and to which it supplies food, feed, food-producing animals or any substance which is or it is expected to be incorporated in food or feed • Establish a system and procedures for availability of the traceability data • Food/feed placed on the market shall be appropriately marked and recorded it’s identification and traceability Ø Article 33 - F&FBO’s shall provide information related to traceability of food/feed and cooperate in all activities undertaken by the CAs Belgrade, 24 -25 Jan 2012

Food&Feed Traceability in Serbia – Legal basis Law on Veterinary Matters (OG RS, No 91/2005, 30/2010) Food of Animal Origin (FAO) Ø Article 103 - Record Keeping in Slaughterhouses: • Slaughterhouses must maintain records enabling traceability of purchases, slaughter animals, circulation of products / food of animal origin and ABPs in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and to enable the production and placing on the market of safe food of animal origin • The records shall be retained for three years and be provided to the veterinary inspector upon request Belgrade, 24 -25 Jan 2012
