Power Writing n n Write for Power is a tool to help any person, Power Writing n n Write for Power is a tool to help any person, from the primary grades through adult life, develop and sharpen his writing skills by providing a method – Writing for Power – that will amplify the process and will actually result in writing with literacy and logic – and pleasure! To eliminate the classical terminology of exposition – such as topic sentences, major and minor details – which may have seemed too abstract for many students and thus interfered with their development of a logical thought, the author applied a numerical value to word, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs. The approach seemed to unlock the process of writing at once for all types of people, at all ages. Write For Power - English Gold 2

Numeric Value n n By using three numbers, Power Writing assigns the value of: Numeric Value n n By using three numbers, Power Writing assigns the value of: 1 st Power to main ideas, topic sentences, and topic paragraphs; 2 nd Power to major details that explain main ideas: 3 rd Power to minor details that elaborate upon or clarify major details.
