Myths • There a lot of myths about cancer types. Here is most common ones ;
Myth • «Only women get breast cancer»
Truth • Breast cancer is one of the most common invasive cancers of women. Nevertheless, in contrary to people’s minds, it can be found in men, too. “Unfortunately it is characterized by poorer outcomes due to delayed diagnosis. This misunderstanding may cause some men to ignore breast lumps until the cancer has spread too far to be curable. ”

Myth • «Cancer is almost always fatal. »
Truth • Cancer is not a synonym to “end of the world”. It is true that some of the patients are in a bad condition and should be hospitalized for better care, but the majority of cancer patients are treated as outpatients, going back home, working and living their everyday lives as it was before cancer diagnosis.
Myth • « Treating cancer with surgery causes it to spread throughout the body. »
Truth “Apparently, we, as future doctors, have to calm the patients down and discuss the best solution for their case. ” • This myth may have started many years ago when most patients presented with advanced cancer by the time they sought treatment. Doctors may have operated to find the cause of a patient's illness and found an advanced cancer that could not be treated successfully. When the patient died a short time later, observers thought the surgery caused the cells to spread and kill the patient.
Myth • «Undergoing cancer treatment means you can't live at home, work or go about your usual activities. »
Truth “The result is they're often able to work and stay active during their treatment. ” • A great deal of time and effort has gone into making it easier for people to live a more normal life during their treatment. For example, drugs are now available to help better control nausea.
In conclusion; • People should get informed about cancer. We are living in the information age and we can spread the knowledge all over the world. Ignorence is more dangerous than cancer.
