Be Careful with Fats & –Sugar avocado, • Mono-unsaturated olive oil, nuts, some nuts – good for the heart as part of a balanced diet. • Saturated – fatty meats, full fat milk, cheese, butter and coconut oil. Try leaner meat and semi skimmed milk and not too much cheese. • Poly-unsaturated – fish oils, corn oils. • Trans Fatty Acids – some natural but mainly in manufacturing (cakes, biscuits, pasty etc). Can be bad for the heart. • Sugar is sugar (white sugar, brown sugar, syrup, honey, within fruits, within foods, chocolate, sweets) – Too much can cause tooth decay & weight gain.
