What is Wisdom? Wisdom is: l Understanding words of insight. (1: 2) l Doing what is right, just and fair (1: 3 b) l Knowledge (1: 4) l Understanding (1: 6) Wisdom is what radiates out from our adoration and devotion to our everyday conduct that sees each moment as the Lord’s time, each relationship as the Lord’s opportunity, each duty as the Lord’s command each blessing as the Lord’s gift. It is a new way of looking at life and seeing what it is meant to be when viewed from God’s perspective. D Hubbard.
How do we get wise? From knowing God. l From asking for wisdom. 1 Kings 3 l I will do what you have asked I will give you a wise and discerning heart…. . 1 Kings 3: 12 For the Lord gives wisdom and from him mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2: 6
What is your favourite proverbs? He who winks maliciously causes grief and a chattering fool comes ruin. Pr 10: 10 Better a meal of Vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. Pr 15: 17 Many a man claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find? Pr 20: 6
What is your favourite proverbs? Better to live on the corner of a roof than to share a house with a quarrelsome wife? Pr 25: 24 If you find honey- eat just enough. Too much of it and you will vomit. Pr 25: 16

Choose friends wisely Haughty eyes, l a lying tongue, l hands that shed innocent blood l a heart that devises wicked schemes, l feet that are quick to rush to evil, l a false witness who pours out lies l a man who stirs up dissension among his brothers. l

Love the poor and marginalised wisely l l 14: 31 He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their make but whoever is kind to the needy honours God. 22: 9 a generous man will himself be blessed for he shares his food with the poor. 14: 21 blessed is he who is kind to the needy. 28: 27 He who gives to the poor will lack nothing but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.
Trust in the Lord with all your heard and lean not on your own understanding In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. 3: 3 -6
