William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's preeminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". Around 1595 Shakespeare created one of the most famous of his tragedies "Romeo and Juliet" - the story of human development in the struggle with external circumstances for the right to love.
