First plays First Shakespeare wrote historical plays: Richard III; Henry VI; Julius Caesar; Antony and Cleopatra. Then he wrote some comedies: The Comedy of Errors; As You Like It; A midsummer Night’s Dream.
Masterpieces After 1600 “Hamlet”, “Othello”, “King Lear”, “Macbeth” and others appeared. All in all, W. Shakespeare wrote 37 plays. But the most popular with people from all over the world is the tragedy called “Romeo and Juliet”.
