Westwood Style Kateryna Kyrychenko Media Production 1 7 period
Westwood is a school what consists of absolutely different people. This diversity is a base for a versatile style of the school. However, as in an every community, there are some particular trends what are dominant in Westwood. I decided to find students, who symbolize these trends and remain individuals at the same time. These people are Faith James, Mirakle Cooper, Channing Cross, Krisona Brown, Da’Vette Peoples and Trey Jackson. I shoot mostly on the streets because style of Westwood was inspired by the street style. Nevertheless, there are some shoots inside of the school. It is a place what unites us.
Faith James Faith is known as a smiling girl from the Morning New Show. If you see her now, you may ask yourself, “Is it that Faith? ” Now she looks completely different from her image. Faith is serious and very confident. You can feel it through the picture. The black fence on the background and the leather jacket on her shoulder express it more and make atmosphere rebellious. While shooting, we talk about style. She says, “I believe that Westwood’s Style is very remarkable because of how versatile the students are. One person can be dressed in ‘high fashion’ and the other in ‘chill clothes’ and neither are judged negatively. There are many different styles of Westwood and I love how everyone can be themselves. ”
Suddenly caught by the Sun, she starts laughing. The girl from 80 s, it is how she looks now. She shows how different she can be, “Another style tip is to be versatile. I understand following trends because I like to at times but don’t only follow trends. Find your inner style and make a statement!”
“I like to look at the pictures of my Mom when she was a teenager. It is very important source of inspiration for me, but not the only one. ”
Mirakle Cooper Mirakle wears light pink bomber, that takes all your attention. It is an analogy on the style of 90 s, what she admires and what suddenly started spreading in Westwood. Mirakle says, “Style is a way of expression, my style makes me happy. ”
Mirakle is a positive person, who finds selfesteem very important. Her style tip is ‘Be yourself and others may follow. ’ Mi. I
Channing Cross Channing is wearing a gray poncho, that has a gradient effect with her light jeans and black fence. All this makes a harmonic, almost peaceful, look. Especially the poncho, what is both convenient in daily life and fashionable now. llow, if they don’t it doesn't matter.
Channing thinks that the balance in the outfit is extremely important. She advises, “Make sure to coordinate your colors, don’t over accessorize, and don’t wear something only because everyone else is wearing it. ”
Krisona Brown Krisona represents the type of teenagers, who are inspired by such experimenters as Rihanna and Kanye.
Krisona combines things what can seem uncombined: high heels and baggy clothes, dresses, and brutal jackets.
“Don't let other’s judgments make you change your style or way you express yourself because first they hate and make fun, but then they copy. ”
Da’Vette Peoples Normcore is a style of Da’Vette. It is basically a fashion movement. The aim is to look simple and fashionable together. There are no big contrasts or anything else. Fashion isn’t the main value for people of this style. However, you can see a lot of not normcore outfits on Da’Vette in daily life.
Da’Vette demonstrates, that sweater, vest, black jeans and boots are good base for the fashionable fall and winter outfits.
Trey Jackson Trey says, “I don’t wear jeans!”. Instead, he wears baggy pants. By dabbing, a popular Westwood and American move, Trey, however, expresses himself.
“I don’t try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself. ” Mikhail Baryshnikov Trey loves dancing. It has been affecting him and his style from the early years. He is a perfect example of the impact of hobbies and interests on the major Westwood style.
