A Pecha Kucha is a presentation format that makes your talk concise, visually interesting and keeps thing moving at a rapid pace. It draws its name from the Japanese term for the sound of 'chit chat'. It is based on a simple idea: you (the presenter) narrate your idea/topic through 20 images on 20 slides, which advance automatically every 20 seconds. In keeping with the Ri. M objective to take our science to new levels, the Pecha Kucha was the required format for all presentations! The “Pechakuchistas” (scientific term for ‘not your average presenter’) Young Investigator Dr Timothy Chan from the University of Toronto Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering makes it look like child’s play Dr Steve Lin, a graduate student enrolled in the Collaborative Program, introduces the audience to the art of Pecha Kucha on the fly
