The airport n The airport is the face of the city. Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport is a major transit hub for the Urals on the major routes between Europe and Asia. Founding date of the airport is 12 July 1957, when it was completed the first passenger flight on Tu-104 on the route Novosibirsk - Moscow. Get to the airport is very easy, because all over the city can be found a comfortable bus that takes you there.

The festivals Novosibirsk is the capital of Siberia. As in any capital city, we pass a wide variety of festivals. Which of them are large, and what is not important. Each festival brings together many different people of all ages and social status.

"White spot" - a festival devoted to literature.

"On the steps" - a festival bands Novosibirsk Philharmonic.

Siberian Otaku Saiten (SOS) - the festival of Japanese culture and Japanese animation.

Living Water - The Festival of Ethnic Cultures.

Tips for travellers n Winters in Novosibirsk are very cold - be ready for it. You should have rather warm clothes. And if it is summer take an umbrella because rainy weather is usual for these places. When you have all of it you can go for a walk. The city is quite big so buy a map if you haven`t a guide or friends here. You will find that there are many interesting sights and places in Novosibirsk. And of course it would be useful for you to have a camera.

Tour itineraries First of all you should know that there are some districts in Novosibirsk. So your tour itinerary depends on what you really want to do here. If you are interested in Siberian Nature you should go to Soviet district. Botanical gardens are situated here. Also it is a centre of science. If you want to have some cultural rest go to the Cenral district. Theatres, philharmonic societies, cinemas, circuses, stadiums – you`ll find all you need there. Novosibirsk zoo is in the Zaelcovsk district. And you can choose almost all districts to do some shopping.

Dealing with money If your main purpose in Novosibirsk is spending money – you found the place you need. The city has a huge amount of ways to do it. And first of all you should visit shopping centres and hypermarkets. The biggest one is IKEA which situated on the left riverside. Also you will find many expensive and proprietary shops in Central district of Novosibirsk. If you prefer cultural rest go to Academic Theatre, Government Philharmonic Society, House of Scientists or other place of this type. And if you`re tired after such a rich day go to restaurants and cafes to relax.

River Park Hotel Accommodation in Novosibirsk is not of the highest quality, but is quite ok for a few days. There a few hotels in the centrum of the city (from $20 / $30 for the simpliest rooms and from $50 / $80 for better quality singles / doubles). Hotel River Park Ob is the 12 floor building, located on the bank of the Siberian river Ob, in central and simultaneously non-polluting part of city. There is one of the largest city transport units (railway station of local trains, station of the underground, a stop for buses, trams, trolley buses, a fixed-route taxi) in 5 minutes of walk, therefore guests of the hotel have the opportunity to reach to any part of the city very quickly.

Novosibirsk Mini-Hotel A very neat and friendly minihotel located near the railway station in the center of Novosibirsk, operated by the same company as the one that rents apartments short-term (see above). There are in all four double rooms in the hotel, a kitchen with cooking facilities, toilets, bathroom. The price is 520 R ($15) per room with a kitchen and meeting rooms, which makes it the cheapest and most convenient central accommodation in Novosibirsk.

The hotel "Northern lock" / Nord Castle is unique on the arrangement - away from noisy highways, but whence it is possible to reach easily to important business of objects and complexes. This is the most interesting and unusual hotel in Novosibirsk.

Restaurants & Cafes Novosibirsk has a great variety of places to eat. The price is usually not more than 200 -300 R ($7 -$10) for a full meal, however, you can find cheaper places. A coffee usually costs 30 -50 R ($1 -$1. 7), and a beer is 20 -100 R usually ($0. 7$3), depending on a sort. Here's a list of some restaurants and cafes that seem to be nice: Old Irish Bar, Stone House Restaurant, and Rock City rock club.

The best place to eat in Novosibirsk, located very centrally on Krasny Prospekt, 37. Opened daily 12. 00 until 2. 00. The food is traditional Russian and European, an average bill (including drinks) is about $10 -$15 person. The portions are hearty, the food is delicious, the people are nice. There's also an open-air terrace where you can sit and observe the city dwellers. There's also a popular rock club "Rock City" located in the same buidling, featuring live concerts by Russian rock groups every evening. Jily Byli. Well, the profitable business idea of budget Russian style restaurant works not only in capitals but in the center of Siberia as well. This medium-size restaurant is decorated with wood and ceramics, the waitresses are in Russian style clothes, and the food is typically Russian and tasty. Don’t miss their kvas – it is really good. To eat there you need about 100 -200 R ($3 -$7). The cheapest cafes : Grill Master, “vilka-spoon”, “solnce pek”, “blin’ Ok ”. The most expansive restaurant in Novosibirsk is restaurant “Classic”. In a turn of national restaurants of Novosibirsk a wonder of inter-regional scale became "Havanaclub" absolutely original restaurant which practically doesn't have analogs beyond Ural Mountains. Now Russian theme is present significantly (a network of democratic taverns " Жили- Были", restaurants «Sibirskaya troyka» , "Skomorohi", "Sloboda"). Mexican cuisine — restaurants "Mexico ", "Amigo" is rather popular. The Balkan direction while is personified by two restaurants- "the Balkans-grills" and more "national" "Vranats". The Italian. «Or the Patio", "the Capriccio)", "Makaroni, the Pizza and Paste. Bars. Tap water is not drinkable anywhere in Russia. Caution should be exercised and local advice sought. Bottled mineral water is widely available.
