Meet the Teacher • Born and raised in Miami, FL • This is my 7 th year teaching • I graduated from Florida Atlantic University in December, 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with an ESOL Endorsement • I have a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction and I am currently working on my Reading Endorsement • I have an immense passion for teaching

Classroom Tips • Our classroom is really cold, make sure to send your child to school with their green sweater. • Don’t send your child to school with toys, bracelets, watches, lead pencils, etc. Anything is a distraction!
Lunch Procedures • Each child is responsible for learning his or her lunch number.
Classroom Rules 1. Raise your hand to speak. 2. Follow directions. 3. Work quietly and do not disturb others. 4. Keep hands and feet to yourself. 5. Treat others as you would like to be treated. 6. Come to class prepared and on time and ready to work.

Homework Policy • Homework Monday-Friday • Students are responsible for taking home their homework packets. • Students will ALWAYS have Spelling, Reading, Sight Words and Math homework. Science and Social Studies is occasional. • Students must complete homework EVERY night independently. • Homework is to be turned in the following Monday. • PLEASE make sure your child is completing My On and Reflex Math on their own.
Uniforms Complete uniform is to be worn EVERY day • Boys- khaki pants, white / hunter green / yellow school shirt, black or brown shoes or sneakers, belt, and shirt tucked in. • Girls- khaki pants or khaki skort, white / hunter green/ yellow school shirt, black or brown shoes or sneakers, and shirt tucked in. • Sweaters must be solid hunter green- NO LOGOS. • FRIDAYS ONLY: Students are allowed to wear their M. A. E. TShirts with jeans (must bring $1). • IF STUDENTS ARE OUT OF UNIFORM THEY ARE TO CALL HOME.
Volunteers 30 Volunteer Hours per family. 30 Volunteer hours per family, if there is 1 or more siblings in this school. (Hours should be divided equally amongst each child’s teacher. ) Field Trips School Functions Materials for Academic Learning. Office Supplies Gift Cards Classroom Supplies Every $1 = 1 Volunteer Hour (accompany receipts whenever possible. )
Birthdays • Birthdays can be celebrated during lunch time. Lunch is from 11: 30 am-12: 00 pm. • Please notify me ahead of time if you are planning a celebration. All visitors must be approved and cleared by the office prior to chaperoning any school event.
