EMPLOYMENT DOCUMENTS Southern Crescent Technical College is a registered participant in the federal work authorization program commonly known as E-Verify. The College utilizes the program to verify employment eligibility of all individuals hired on or after July 1, 2007. GETTING STARTED… To log on to www. team. georgia. gov § Click on “View My Paycheck” § Type in User ID and Password, if you already know it. ADJUNCT FACULTY, LABORATORY ASSISTANTS AND PART-TIME STAFF • Submit a signed Letter of Authorization defining courses taught each term (Adjunct Faculty and Lab Assistants) • Work up to 29 hours per week only • Must participate in Georgia Defined Contribution Plan • May participate in Peach State Reserves Deferred Compensation SOUTHERN CRESCENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE 15

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT • • • Performance Evaluations SCTC annually reviews and rates the quality and quantity of work performed by all full time employees. Discussions of performance goals and improvements are also performed. Annual performance evaluations are usually held between May and June of each fiscal year between the employee and his/her immediate supervisor. Faculty members are also periodically evaluated, in part, through student evaluations. Staff development plans are also required. SOUTHERN CRESCENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE 18
COLLEGE COMMUNICATIONS SCTC uses School Cast to send out phone/text/email to alert staff/faculty and students in emergencies. Go to www. sctech. edu website Select Employees & Stakeholders Select Resources Go to School. Cast Update your contact information using your email username and password. Your email username is the name that is before the @sctech. edu. For example, if your email address is john. user@sctech. edu, then your username would be john. user. CAMPUS CONDUCT DRESS CODE Faculty and staff shall maintain a professional appearance, while representing SCTC, whether on or off campus. We encourage students to dress in a manner acceptable in the workplace they hope to enter upon graduation. Please help our students understand what is appropriate! CAMPUS CONDUCT Political Activities Federal and State laws place certain restrictions on political activities of employees. An employee who wishes to engage in political activity, other than to express his/her opinion privately and to vote, should review the laws and rules of the state. Fund Raising/Raffles Students and student clubs may sell items at SCTC for the purpose of raising money provided they have submitted a prior request and received approval from the Vice President of Student Affairs or his/her designee. The soliciting of funds by employees and/or the conducting of a raffle is prohibited unless approved by the President. SOUTHERN CRESCENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE 32
CAMPUS CONDUCT HARASSMENT Harassment of any kind will NOT be tolerated! § One person’s kidding -- is another person’s harassment. § Faculty, staff and students are expected to conduct themselves in ways that cannot be misinterpreted as harassment. CAMPUS CONDUCT WORKPLACE VIOLENCE SCTC is committed to providing all employees, students, volunteers, visitors, vendors and contractors a safe and secure workplace and/or academic setting free of intimidating, threatening, or violent behavior. Any violent act or threatening or disruptive behavior, language, or communication in any form (including phone, fax, or email, text, social media, or written communication) shall not be tolerated. CAMPUS CONDUCT BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION TEAM The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is dedicated to a proactive, coordinated and planned approach to the identification, prevention, assessment, management, and reduction of interpersonal and behavioral threats to safety and well being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors. The BIT Team typically meets monthly or as needed. CAMPUS CONDUCT VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) has partnered with Ever. Fi to help students, faculty, and staff members address critical life skills such as alcohol abuse prevention and sexual assault prevention. As part of our prevention program for faculty and staff, and in compliance with the Violence Against Women Act, Southern Crescent Technical College is requiring each faculty and staff member to complete Haven for Faculty and Staff. This online education will provide critical education on sexual harassment, connect employees with support resources, discuss factors that contribute to sexual and relationship violence, and educate employees to become leaders in prevention. This training is required under VAWA, and therefore is mandatory for all employees. The training is currently available and must be completed within 30 days of this orientation session SOUTHERN CRESCENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE 39

SEVERE OR INCLEMENT WEATHER CAMPUS/CENTER CLOSINGS The President or her designee may allow for a campus and/or center closure if severe weather conditions exist. • If weather conditions warrant a closing of a campus and/or center, late opening, or early closing of a campus and/or center, employees directly affected by such conditions will be excused from duty without loss of pay or use of leave. • Employees on a regular day off or otherwise not affected when their office or work place is closed because of severe weather conditions will not receive additional time off or other considerations because of closing.
