TESTING PROCEDURE AND CERTIFICATES

TESTING PROCEDURE FOR PACKAGE SUBSTATIONS & L. V PANELS Following testing procedure from our quality control department of various factory tests are being adopted in our factory before finally dispatching the material. We classify our tests in three sections. Which include the routine and acceptance tests asper IEC – 439 are as follows: 1. 2. 3. Mechaical operation test. Electrical operation test. Optional accessories test. After primary stage wise quality inspection during fabrication, our quality sources checks the mechanical construction of panels, Substations, or whatever is being tested, after assembly asper approved drawings and material lists from our client which includes visual checking such as scratches of painting, welding ends, joints positions of door, placing of gaskets etc. also visual checking includes others portions such as top and bottom plates, Position of metering instruments, positions of main circuit breaker cubicles, Locks, Keys, Nuts, Bolts, torque test on busbars, suitable earthing provision etc. checking of panel dimensions, required quantity & rating of breakers, contactors or other required electrical accessories installed, size of busbars according to the requirement, busbar supporting insulators according to breaking capacity also be checked before electrical tests. At second stage in electrical test includes checking the easy operation of breakers, contactors and other electrical accessories according to the requirements without any

abnormalities. Bolt tightening torque of busbars by torque wrench and in case of control circuit the connection of each equipment and relays, the tightness of wire connections in the terminals of respective equipments are also be checked. The connection to metering instruments. C. T. connection, earth leakage relays, voltage relays, phase relays and other control and monitoring devices etc, are thoroughly checked asper single line diagram or material list of drawing. For insulation test we use meggers (500 V D. C. ). This test includes the insulation resistance measurement between each phase (RY, RB & BY) and each phase and earth (R&E, Y&E, B&E) and from one experience in most cases this value comes in mega ohms showing higher insulation resistance. Dielectric test or high voltage test be conducted by using high voltage tester for getting high voltage, this test is conducted by applying 2. 5 KV voltage for one minute between each phase, neutral and earth, to check any flash-over or puncture with stand capacity of panels at high voltages. Injection test also will be perform to test the real ampere rating of circuit breaker & to make sure the breaker should be trip at the breaker rated current value. Continuity test is to be performed by using multimeter having sound monitors. During testing the panels should not be energized from any source and test be carried out on each equipment and each full circuit, after making respective equipments in on position.

Optional accessories test use to conduct for all accessories such as motors, releasing coil, relays before and after assembling these devices inside the breakers and panels itself. Control and monitoring relays and measuring instruments are also checked before arranging these inside the required panels. All these visual inspections and electrical, mechanical tests are performed in the presence of any authorized person from client or consultant side for that we inform them before testing schedule and finally test certificate be issued to the client, at the time of delivery together with warranty letter. -: NOTHING FOLLOWS: -
