Example #1 • The height of the symbol is 1. 5 inches. The actual symbol will be 96 inches tall once it is created into a statue in my town. If the width of the symbol is 1 inch, how wide will the actual statue be? Use a proportion!
Example #2 A model car measures 2 cm: 1 ft of the actual car. Knowing this ratio, set up a proportion to figure out the actual length of the car if the model measured 36 cm.
7 D LAND -Use the cm side of the ruler to measure the distance between each town -Use the scale to determine the real distance between each town on the map -Answer the questions! Compare with the person next to you.
