Volume 4, Issue 1 Graymont Grade School Newsletter NEWSLETTER: September 2012 August 24, 2012 Volume 4, Issue 1 Graymont Grade School Newsletter NEWSLETTER: September 2012 August 24, 2012 The first few days have gone very well here at Graymont School. I appreciate the student’s eagerness to learn and the way they get along so well together. We have one new employee this year. She is Mrs. Kim Mc. Henry who will serve as our Art teacher. She is from Normal. She has a degree from the University of Illinois in Art and recently finished her Master’s Degree in Art Education at Illinois State University. This is her first teaching job. We feel very fortunate to have Kim as a part of our staff here at Graymont. I am excited about my fifth year here and so thankful for our fine staff and students. I also want to extend a warm welcome to our new kindergarten students. They are Jacob Dewald, son of Matt and Dawn Dewald, Faith Embley, daughter of Patrick and Kelli Embley, and Boston Mattingly, son of Beth Dronenberg and Steve Mattingly. We hope these new students are getting settled and enjoy being a part of Graymont Grade School. When you come to school, I’m sure you will notice how well the school is maintained. As usual, our custodial staff did a great job of cleaning and preparing the building for the new school year. We hope you will attend our PTO Open House on Tuesday, August 28 th. The Open House will start at 6: 00 p. m. , followed by a PTO Meeting at 7: 00 p. m. If you aren’t able to attend on the 28 th, we hope you will join us for our Pork Chop Dinner fund raiser coming up on September 21 st from 4: 30 – 7: 00 p. m. By the way, if you have an item you would like to donate to the silent auction held at the Pork Chop dinner, please email Rusty Rich at RDRLAR 1 [email protected] COM or call him at 815 -743 -5792. The spirit of cooperation I have seen here over the years has been terrific. The Rooks Creek School District and Graymont School have lots of people who care deeply about it and want to see it continue its tradition of excellence. With the care and support, I believe we have something truly unique here in this day and age. Thanks in advance for your continued support for the school district and the youth of this community. We are anticipating another great year at Graymont School in 2012 -2013! Bill James
