Review of TAE 10 Major changes to TAE 40114 • Incorporation of LLN 411 in the core • Resulting in 8 core and 2 elective units • A new entry requirement to ensure that candidates have vocational expertise before undertaking the Certificate IV • In the delivery unit DEL 401 a requirement that candidates deliver to a group size of 8 • In all the core units a requirement that the assessor of the unit hold the Diploma of VET (either TAE 50111 or TAE 50114) or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence
Review of TAE 10 • Major changes to TAE 50114 Replacement of LLN 401 with a higher level unit LLN 501 A similar requirement to the TAE 40114 in relation to holding the Diploma of VET or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence • Equivalence TAE 40114 and TAE 40110 are not equivalent TAE 50114 and TAE 50111 are equivalent
Review of TAE 10 Companion Volumes and User Guides • To support TAE 40114: an updated User Guide, Self Assessment Tool • To support TAE 50114: an updated User Guide, Holistic Assessment materials • To support LLN qualifications and Skill Set 00009: an existing User Guide • To support the TAE package: a new CV which will provide advice on remaining qualifications, equivalence, pathways etc
Review of TAE 10 Next Steps • Endorsement arrangements still unclear • Hoping for August/September endorsement • Needs to be a change in the determination for trainers and assessors • 12 month transition
