Use of business software • Databases – A way of storing information on computer. Information can be searched for or reports compiled of information you are looking for. – How could they be useful for MT Ltd? – Search for customer information- can be used to send out mail shots advertising offers easily – Stock information – so that only buy materials needed – Employee details – so can prove that paying them the minimum wage

Spreadsheets • Used to store number data and complete calculations • How can Mt Ltd use spreadsheets? • To monitor their cash flow situation. Helps them reduce deficits if predicted. Plan what effects certain things might have on cashflow. Can change one figure and calculations done automatically so quick and convenient.

Budgets • You will look at these with Mrs Scales this week. • Can be used to monitor spending and check that spending is not greater than planned. This will mean costs are contained and profits are more likely to be be made

General ICT Points • Large amounts of data can be stored • Changes can be made quickly • Information can be searched for and found quickly • Information or reports can be printed to summarise a business’s position • Can you think of and write down 3 problems of using ICT?
