UNCLASSIFED//FOUO UNIFIED STRENGTH Tactical Evacuation Care • • Evacuation is the last phase of the three phases of TCCC. After all life threatening injuries have been found and treated and the patient is as stable as possible, prepare the casualty to be moved to – A safer place locally – A safer place further away from the combat zone – Or a higher echelon of care such as a medical treatment facility or a hospital ARMY STRONG, STRONG EUROPE USAREUR FDO 191432 L FEB 2015 DMA
UNCLASSIFED//FOUO UNIFIED STRENGTH Moving the Casualty Locally • • • Move the casualty out of the immediate area first. • Removing the wounded will avoid further injury to the casualty Consider the appropriate extraction method. – If possible enemy in the area or still under contact, use a drag method to keep a low silhouette. – If no enemy present at the moment, use a buddy carry to expedite movement of casualty. Take casualty to the last known safe location and ensure to continue engaging the enemy if necessary. ARMY STRONG, STRONG EUROPE USAREUR FDO 191432 L FEB 2015 DMA
