UN Economic Commission for Europe • Synopsis of EDIFACT implementations - Italy Information has been collected from different sectors: - Automotive - Electrical Appliances - Large-scale retail trade - Pharmaceuticals - Telecoms • Different levels of adoption of UN/EDIFACT standards apply and different models (e. g. : central hub, provider based, EDI/Web. EDI) • The Large-scale retail trade (INDICOD) is at the top rate of adoption with EANCOM (GS 1 guidelines of EDIFACT standards), whilst other sectors are mainly based on proprietary XML (Automotive, Telco) or highly customized (Electric Appliance) EDI solutions (B 2 B exchange) • As for Foreign Payments, FIAT Group is also managing EDIFACT standards (Paymul format) over its corporate banking EDI channel 15 -17 February 2012 Palais des Nations, Geneva
