It is correct to say “Ukraine” not “The Ukraine”. The
Flag Coat of Arms Ukraine (Україна) is the second-largest European country (after Russian part) and the largest country wholly within Europe. It borders with Russia to the east and northeast, Belarus to the northwest, Poland Slovakia to the west, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova to the southwest, and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov to the south and southeast.
The official state language is Ukrainian. However, most people are bilingual and speak equally well Russian and Ukrainian, people from west regions are usually fluent in Polish, Hungarian and Romanian.
Kyiv
Kyiv is the capital and largest city of Ukraine, located in the north central part of the country on the Dnieper River. The population of Kyiv is about 3 million people. Interesting fact: Kyiv was established in 482 year by a knyaz (prince) Kyi from the tribe of Polans. Moscow was established by Grand Prince of Kyivska Rus in 1156.
Kyivska Rus’ – was a loose federation of East Slavic tribes in Europe from the late 9 th to the mid-13 th century. The modern people of Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia all claim Kyivska Rus' as their cultural ancestors.

National Ukrainian embroidered shirt is called “vyshyvanka”. Many variations of its design were created. Usually, it was made of homemade linen which was produced by loom. Local features are usually represented in the shirt's ornamental pattern.

“Carol of the Bells” is a Ukrainian folk song One of the most famous Christmas songs “Schedryk” (a folk song written by a Ukrainian composer, Mykola Leontovich) is known to the rest of the world as “Carol of the Bells” or “Ring Christmas Bells”. Based on an old Ukrainian folk song, the original lyrics describe a swallow flying into a household to proclaim the plentiful year that the family will have. World's First Constitution In 1710, Ukrainian Hetman Pylyp Orlyk introduced “Pacts and Constitutions of Rights and Freedoms of the Zaporizhian Host”, at that time a superprogressive document which meant to separate powers into three branches and regulate the rights and responsibilities of the government and citizens. Some researchers believe that this document is one of the world’s first constitutions. For example, U. S. Constitution was adopted in 1787 and French and Polish in 1791.
The Tunnel of Love is an amusement railway located near Klevan, Ukraine. It is a railway surrounded by green arches and is three kilometers in length. It is known for being a favorite place for couples to take walks.
The world’s biggest aircraft The world’s heaviest aircraft is An-225 Mriya is created by the Kyiv-based Antonov design bureau. The plane was designed to airlift space shuttles and rocket boosters, however is now carrying oversized payloads.
