Tyumen-the gate to Siberia It was founded in 1586 on the place of the ancient Tatar settlement Chingi-Tura. Our city is an important cultural and industrial center of the Ural-Siberian region
The Saint Trinity Monastery (is situated in Lunacharsky Street) It‘s the oldest building in Tyumen, protected by our state. At present a museum is opened in one of the churches. The age of the monastery is 380 years.
Museum of the City Duma Is situated in Republic (former Tsarskaya) Street The construction was started in 1828. It is decorated with a tower striking clock manufactured by the farmer A. Trusov.
In 1837 Alexander II, accompanied with the poet and the author of the first Russian hymn, Vassily Zhukovsky visited this building.
Kolokolnikovs’ House Earlier it belonged to Stepan and Victor Kolokolnikovs. They were Tyumen merchants and took an active part in public and business life of the city. The building is also located in Lunacharsky Street.
Mansion of Kolokolnikovs (situated in Republic Street) n This monument of wooden architecture harmoniously combines the elements of Baroque and Classical decorative wood-carving.
The Saint Joseph Church It is situated in Lenin Street. According to the resolution of merchant Tekutiev the Saint Joseph Church was built in 1903 -1906. And in 1994 the first organ in Tyumen was constructed here. A Sunday School is functioning now in this building.
The State Agricultural University of Northern Urals A building constructed by the architect Vorotilov from St. Petersburg is located in Republic Street. The Tyumen merchant Podaruev invested his money to this project. Alexandrovskoye Real School was opened there in 1878. And in 1886 well known American journalist G. Kennan visited it. He said: “ This technical school was one of the best in Russia. ”
The famous Russian writer M. Prishvin studied here.
The monument in memory of Nikolai Kuznetsov It was built in December 1967 near the entrance to the building of State Agricultural University of Northern Urals This is the first sculpture of Great Patriotic war. The author of the monument is sculptor Alexei Ivanovich Klyukin.
Monument to Fighters of the Revolution In 1957 to the 40 th anniversary of October revolution n a sculpture was situated n in Republic Street. n It was armed worker and peasant under a red banner. Ten years later in 1950 ( the 50 th anniversary of Revolution) this monument was reconstructed. In this form it exists today. n
«Farewell» memorial (is located in Republic Street) n Sculptures of Tyumen citizens – school-leavers of 1941, died in Great Patriotic war, was opened in 1991.
Church of Archangel Michael – an architectural monument of federal importance. It is located on Lenin Street. Wooden temple was founded in 1616, but it was destroyed by fire. In 1789 there was built a stone church.
In 1892 the first school was opened inside the church. 60 boys and 12 girls studied here.
Spassky Church is one of the oldest and most impressive temples of Tyumen, situated also in Lenin Street. It was opened in 1586. Now the building is used as a storage facility. The opening of the church is expected in 2019.

The Tyumen embankment appeared in 1987, but floods happened very often in the city.

In early 2013 recreation areas, car parks, footpaths,
magnificent sculptures,
and fountains were built here.
