Every collectible doll reflects a time period, place of origin, craftsmanship standards, and the care or neglect of its owner.
Vintage dolls date back to the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. Dozens of manufacturers created these dolls in a variety of styles, designs and sizes.
The term "character doll" has two meanings. The first is a vintage doll that has a definite expression on the face, such as smiling.

Vinyl Dolls These are modern dolls made either completely from vinyl or from a combination of hard plastic and vinyl.
Wood Dolls Ethnic dolls are the most common type of wooden dolls, such as matryoshka dolls, or Russian nesting dolls, kachina dolls, and wooden puppets such as Pinocchio.
