General objectives 1. Supporting European Accession Process 2. Supporting the administrative decentralization of local development policies 3. Improving of dialogue between central and local governments and with local communities; 4. Strengthening the partecipation of the civil society and local stakeholders in the design of the public policies.
Principal issues and local needs Diversification of the tourism offer; Preservation of the environmental resource; Improvement of governance process by including local stakeholders in the decision making process; Development of institutional capacities regarding spatial planning, particularly regarding tourism sector.
Specific objective Promotion of the sustainability and adoption of the new methodologies and instruments of spatial planning in order to achieve a sustainable tourism development from environmental, economic and social point of view.
Expected results Improved institutional capacities regarding the sustainable spatial planning and environmental performance in tourism sector Mesurable tourism sustainability Created instruments of planning in the Municipalities: 1. Geografic Information Systems for tourism 2. Integrated Plan for management of the coastal areas 3. Guidelines of the sustainable tourism services Improved tourists’ awareness on environmental issues

Project structure(2) Three working phases: Phase 1. Analysis, Phase 2. Planning and programming sustainable tourism Phase 3. Pilot Activities Every phase presume the active participation of local public and private stakeholders. Information and communication activities will follow every working phase.
Main activities (1) Analysis • Ongoing Urban Plans (current Plans and Programmes in force) with tourism relevance; • Environmental report; • Sustainability of the tourist offer; • SWOT analisys of tourism offer; • Tourists’ awareness of sustainability and environmental issues
