Train the Workforce: Status prior to 2003 § Biomanufacturing industry in NC was poised for major growth, but couldn’t find enough qualified employees. § Community colleges were critically under funded. § Universities needed more industrially-targeted curricula, as well as facilities. § The state responded with Golden LEAF funding. § The Biomanufacturing and Pharmaceutical Training Consortium was launched.
