Agenda • Current status of work; • Traff-20 VC=5, Revision 1; • Traff-20, VC=6, Revision 1; • Traff-20 VC=6, Revision ? ? VC=7;
Traff-20 VC 5 – Current Status • Traff Software description Cnn. V 5 R 20: – nn – V 5 SCATS VC 5; – R 20 • Controller Id (18 – QTC; 24 – Eclipse; 29 - ATSC/4); Indicates Traff-20; No change since 26 th April 2012; Latest Release Traff Build 29;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 – Current Status • Work started on VC 5. 1 i. e. VC 5 revision 1; in January 2014. • Work is in final stages of testing; • Traff Software description Cnn. V 5. 1 R 20, Traff build 1; • Changes will be ported to VC 6 after testing; • Changes were made to satisfy some long standing customer requests;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • Traff sends SG colours to SCATS; – FRYG bits sent to SCATS each SG; • SCATS can request SG colours: – For all SGs – one off request; – Colour updates for all SGs (times out in 12 seconds); – Colour for a specific SG – one off request;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • Traff filters flashing groups to prevent too many comms messages; – Only the first two flash colours are sent back for flashing groups;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented Colours reported for a monitored Pedestrian Group: Don’t Walk G Walk Clearance F F R N Don’t Walk R
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented Colours reported for a Flashing Group (where the SG colour is stable for less than 1 second): Off Flashing Yellow and Red (Wig Wag) Y F R F Y Off N
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • SCATS users can operate logical detectors: – Pulse detector on for 4 secs; – ‘Permanent’ on; (SCATS needs to reset the detector 60 sec ‘on’ timer) • The simulated detector will affect: phase demands, extension, five minute counts, volume and non-occupancy data.
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • SCATS can demand a phase option; • The Call Phase (CLP) message has been extended to include a phase option: – Zero – no phase option (default); – 1 -255 – option as programmed by personality; eg Option 2 to run diamond phase E 2 option;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • The Call Phase message has been extended to include the next phase time to termination (TTT); – Seconds up to 255;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • The Next Phase (NXP) message has been extended to include: – TTT (0 -255 secs) for the next phase; – TTT updates for the running phase; – The phase option (0 -255) for the next phase;
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • Advantages of TTT data: – Immunity to longer breaks in SCATS communications (without fallback and breaking marriage chains); – Allow personality to introduce features late in the phase (similar principle to Z 5); – SPa. T (Signal Group Phase and Timing) data (eg predict end of phase);
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • Advantages of TTT data: B Phase Min NXP C B TTT C Option C Phase Min B TTT Comms Break C TTT Controller Moves to C if Demanded Fallback from Masterlink Mode
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • If there is a Comms Break the controller will: – Prevent fallback as long as possible; – Hold Masterlink Mode during Intergreen and Minimum Green intervals; – Terminate Pedestrian movements when the controller’s comms timer would have expired; – Move to the last reported NXP if it is demanded (i. e. based on TTT time or Gap if allowed);
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • More information in the Pedestrian Status Message (PED): – Now sends Pedestrian clearance 1 and 2 status; – Still sends Walk and Demand status; – Delay and Walk 2 status are sent in another message; Don’t Walk Delay 1 2 Walk 1 Walk 2 Clearance 1 Clearance 2 Don’t Walk
Traff-20 VC 5. 1 - Changes Implemented • VC 5. 1 Region will work with Traff-20 VC 5; • VC 5 Region will work with Traff-20 VC 5. 1;
VC 6. 1 - Current Status • Traff-20 VC 6 Rev 1 Test Release – Build 107 (released 18 th Dec 2014). • Still targeting release Traff-20 VC 6 Traff Build 1; • Testing of ATSC/4 Controller almost complete (some minor bugs to correct & conflict monitor testing);
VC 6. 1 Current Status - ATSC/4 Controller • VC 6 testing is going well with the ATSC/4 controller but suffers interruptions; • Testing is approximately 90+% complete; • Latest software supplied by ATC is version 1. 6; supplied on 12 th February 2015;
VC 6. 1 Current Status - QTC Controller • QTC provided hardware and software for the test controller on 3 rd February 2011; • Software fails to run; • No current estimated software delivery date;
VC 6. 1 Current Status - Eclipse Controller • Tyco provided hardware updates to the test controller on 9 th November 2012; • No current estimated software delivery date;
VC 6. ? ? - Current Status • A the last SMUG meeting I discussed proposed changes for VC 7; • VC 6. ? ? is an interim version leading to VC 7; • The VC 6 protocol will be extended to fast track the delivery of a 16 phase controller;
