At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach is Hill Inlet, a beautiful cove where the tide shifts the sand water to create a beautiful fusion of colors.
Red Beach, Greece
Santorini’s Red Beach is one of the most picturesque locations on the list. Surrounded by soaring red lava cliffs (hence the name), this beach also has some of the most beautiful and unique red sand in the world. The beach is only accessible by boat, or by a ten minute descent by foot from above. The entire island was formed from a now-sleeping volcano – sleeping but not dead. Santorini is said to be the true Atlantis, as much of the island literally slipped below the sea in the course of a night.
Sidari, Greece
Found on the Greek island of Corfu, some of this beaches most recognizable landmarks are the unusual cliff formations known as the canal d amour (channel of love). According to legend if a couple swims together in the surrounding water they’ll be together forever.
Maldives
Rarely are we rendered speechless by the beauty and serenity of one beach, but it may just have happened with Nalaguraidhoo. The locals call this island ‘The flower of the Indies’ and we can see why. After splashing around in the clear blue waters, you can hire a jet ski, soak up the sun or surf the waves. And that’s just the beginning. This island comes complete with a floating beach resort that stretches out into the water, so you can fall asleep to the sound of the lapping waves. It’s better than a cup of Horlicks. So we’ve heard.
Anse Source d’Argent, Seychelles
Quite possibly one the most photographed beaches in the world, you’ll find the looming boulders of this surreal paradise on the island of La Digue in the Seychelles. It’s surrounded by shallow turquoise water and protected from the ocean’s waves by a coral reef.

Champagne Beach, Vanuatu
On the island of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu (an island nation located in the south Pacific, between New Caledonia and Fiji) sits the (still fairly) untouched paradise of Champagne beach. Named after the fizzy champagne like qualities of the lagoon water at low tide, this beach has more going for it than just the name of our favourite tipple. Unspoilt rainforests give way to towering mountains overlooking the shore, perfect for exploring and then retiring to a hammock for a midafternoon snooze. Go on. What are you waiting for?
