Tiree is the most westerly island in the Inner Hebrides which lie off the west coast of Scotland
Tiree is about 20 x 10 km in size. There are half a dozen modest hills dotted around the island. This is one of Britain's sunniest locations and one of the windiest places.

The harbour. Tiree, only 12 miles long, lies off the Atlantic coast of Scotland. It is one of the Inner Hebrides. This harbour was built in 1771 and until the 1960's the ferry from mainland Scotland operated from here. Now several fishing boats and tourist sea trips use it.
It’s population is of about 800 people. Here you will find the post office, a supermarket, butcher's shop, police station, museum and the Hotel. For many years Tiree was 'dry' ie. No alcohol was sold on the island.
Wild flowers . Tiree's unique environment – machair, dunes, mild climate, marshlands, crushed shell sandy soil, a lot of wild flowers.
Tobermory, a picturesque little town with 18 th century stone houses.
Grasslands. It’s Gaelic name, Tir Lodh, means land of corn.
