We would like to remind parents this is against the law. The legal age for a Facebook account is 13. We would ask that parents and guardians to remove their children from Facebook. The dangers of young people having these accounts is immense. Can all parents please be vigilant about what your child/children are using computers/ipads etc. for. Mrs Satterthwaite FOREST SCHOOL It’s Y 3/4 turn to do Forest School on Friday, they will need old clothes/waterproofs and wellies. TAG RUGBY Class two children are taking part in a Rugby Tournament at Aspatria Rugby Club on Monday 25 September. They will need their PE kit. Y 5/6 FRENCH Our French teacher is setting up a penpal scheme for our children in Y 5/6. Can children please bring photos of family/friends/interest/pets etc. into school. We can scan photos are return the originals. FRIENDS OF ST MATTHEW’S SCHOOL A meeting is being held in school on Tuesday 3 rd October at 3. 30 pm. NEW MEMBERS WELCOME
SCHOOL MILK School milk costs £ 5 per term except for reception children who receive free milk. HALLOWEEN DISCO The Friends of St Matthew’s School are organising a Halloween Disco in the Village Hall on Tuesday 31 st October 4 pm to 5. 30 pm. More details to follow. Raffle prizes will be welcome. SCHOOL CALF The Dream Team have been raising money to buy a calf for school. They have now raised enough money and are going to a farm tomorrow to purchase the calf. The calf will be kept at Armstrong’s Farm at Bromfield. The children will have the opportunity to look after the calf, feed it and clean it out etc. There will be ongoing costs and the children will continue to raise funds. We will sell the calf at a future date. The aim of this project is to learn children about animal husbandry and how to manage money. We would like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors and Armstrong’s for looking after the calf. THE DREAM TEAM WILL NEED THEIR WELLIES AND OLD CLOTHES TOMORROW ‘ 100 CLUB’ With this newsletter is an invitation to join the school ‘ 100 CLUB’ The first draw this school year will be done next Thursday. If you would like a ticket/s please return the form as soon as possible. The more members we have the greater the prize fund. All money raised is used for improving the school premises.
