Russian chemist Dmitry Mendeleyev is regarded as the father of periodic tadle of chemical elements.

Mendeleyev was born February 8 th 1834 in Tobolsk and was the last of 17 children. His father died in 1847 and the family glass factory burned down in 1848. With this mother headed for Moscow with Dmitry and his sisters.

Her idea was to place the son in the University of Moscow, but he was refused because he had been born in Siberia. Then he was accepted to the Pedagogic Institute of St. Petersburg.

Dmitry Ivanovich has put a lot of effert teaching, he was a professor of St. Peterburg University. In 1890 Mendeleyev left the University in protest aganist the oppression of students.

Since 1893 and up the end of his life Mendeleyev was head of Bureau of Weights and Measures.

He died 2 nd of February 1907 in St. Petersburg.

In 1869 the scientist made the great discover in the history of chemistry. He led periodic law of chemical elements.

Mendeleyev set down his first ideas at breakfast. He drew up several rudimentary tables and then made 63 cards, one for each of the known elements. He juggled the cards until he had an arrangement that satisfied him, wrote it down, and went to bed. He awoke from his nap with the idea that he should arrange the elements in vertical rather than horizontal groups and transposed them accordingly.

Mendeleyev created that we use now and will use for centeries.

In the view of most people Mendeleyev is great chemist. But much more of his work on the physics, geography, meteorology. The image of the genius scientist Dmitry Mendeleyev will always call for new creative discovers.
