The St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) was founded on August 1 st 2012 as the merger of University of Economics and Finance (FINEC) and University of Economics and Engineering (ENGECON). On December 29 th 2012 University of Service and Economics (SUSE) joined the alliance. The key principle of merger was to preserve best traditions of all three partners thus new University consists of three Institutes.

Council of young scientists the platform uniting graduate students, post-graduate students and everybody who wants to connect the life with scientific and pedagogical activity. Council is also engaged in the organization of scientific actions, actively involves students and undergraduates in scientific work, helps to them to get support for own researches and to adjust interaction with representatives of university science.
Student council • takes active part in management of the University • is engaged in the organization of culture and leisure, sports and scientific student's actions, and also allows students to realize the ideas and to find projects within university adherents. Within the activity, student council cooperates with other student's international organizations.
