The Shishkin House Museum
The only museum in Russia devoted to this heroic woman was opened in 1993 in memorial house. The exposition of the museum represents her whole life: her childhood, military service, literary activity, her life in Yelabuga and materials about her descendants.
The history of Yelabuga’s medicine begins from the 1792 – from the opening of the first medical centre. The first hospital was opened in 1827. A world-known scientist and psychoneurologist Vladimir Bekhterev is the native of Yelabuga’s district.
The Literary Museum of M. Tsvetaeva The Literary museum shows the whole life of Marina Tsvetaeva: her childhood and family life, the years of emigration, her life and literary works in France and Czechia, different publications of her books and her personal things.
The Museum of Town’s History
The Monument to N. A. Durova The history of the Monument to some extent reminds of a myth or a legend. In 1983 a lot of different souvenirs were made using the description of the monument which had not been installed although they had reserved a place for it in the Troitskaya Square.
The Monument to I. I. Shishkin In 1991 the monument to the well-known landscape painter was placed in Yelabuga; and in 2005 the Shishkin ponds were restored on the bank of the river Toima making it more beautiful and complete.
