Good morning. My name’s Angelina, I’m a ballerina, aspiring writer and first year student of journalistic faculty of SUSU. I’m going to talk about the role of mass media today. So, that is the name of my presentation.
So, the purpose of my presentation today is to analyse how important is to give information and knowledge to general public, what is the role of media and what kind of information need audience today.
Firstly, I’m going to look at The Role and Influence of Mass Media. What is Mass Media? It includes television, radio, advertising, movies, the Internet, newspapers, magazines, and so forth. Mass media is a significant force in modern culture, particularly in Russia. With the evolution of digital technology, the role of mass media has been changing quickly.
Mass media has the potential to play a key role in developing a culture of peace and non-violence.
Do you know that in the middle of 20’s century famous psychologist Albert Bandura proved, that if man looking at violence( on screen, in life, in books) he is becoming violent.
So, for mass media is very important to trying to keep «normal degree of social temperature»
We are what we are reading ( and watching) Every day we are need to get some information. In that light Mass Media is a permanent part of our culture
It may give you everything: criminal stories, culture overview, gossip, important political information, advertisement, some people’s stories. You have a huge choise: you may read, hear, watch, or searching by yourself in the Internet all what you need
Mass media today is the very developed sistem with all modern innovation in it. We could have some news few seconds after accident. TV news are in live broadcast.

Secondly, I want to discus what is the role of journalist today? Journalist is the right hand of Mass Media. He is the component of global information system in Mass Media Pie
Research- is his goal and words is his gun
Journalists articles could totally change your opinion or just treating you to thinking about something That’s why I sure that Journalism is not fourth but first power
But Mass media has bad sides: 1. Mass Media is to influence for society 2. Informational tecnologies could destroy private life of people 3. Huge is problem of research quality and truth information 4. Journalist is the object of corruption
