The RCN Immigration Advice Service
Accredited by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) to provide immigration, asylum and nationality advice to Overseas nurses, HCAs and student nurses
The Service Provides: Information Advice Representation Onward Referral
Assistance is available with: Tier 2 (General) PBS (Dependant) Marriage and Civil Partnership Applications Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement) Applications British Citizenship through Naturalisation and Registration European Economic Area (EEA) national queries All other immigration and nationality queries!
Our Policy Function: Liaise and consult with the UK Border Agency an agency of the Home Office and all other relevant government departments. Respond to Government Consultation documents on Immigration matters. Highlight trends and raise awareness both within the RCN and externally of any emerging problems being faced by Overseas Nurses (e. g. abusive recruitment practice). Political lobbying on issues of concern to RCN members in liaison with the RCN Parliamentary Office (e. g. changes in the Immigration Rules affecting Overseas Nurses).
The Service is delivered via: An appointment-based system offering either face to face or telephone consultations with an RCN Immigration Adviser (Telephone: 0345 408 4391 (Option 1) to arrange a consultation). Telephone Advice Line - operated between 12– 2 pm every weekday. Call 0345 408 4391 (Option 1) to speak direct with an RCN Immigration Adviser. E-mail Advice - immigration. advice@rcn. org. uk - all enquiries responded to within two working days. How does the RCN Immigration Advice Service do this?
By staying up to date on immigration law. We are members of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA) and the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI). By providing a safe, respectful and confidential environment safe within which to discuss immigration problems or queries. By maintaining a comprehensive, up to date supply of all necessary Immigration forms and explanatory notes on site. By offering an honest, free assessment of immigration situation and advice. By ensuring you receive expert guidance and – where appropriate – representation on immigration matters.
