OCTOBER 1935 • In October 1935 the Red Army, by now numbering only 7, 000 marched into Yanan Province. They had managed to flee the GMD troops and, with the arrival of other communist troops, set up a new base in Yanan. Although costly, the Long March won the CCP support from peasants, gave them one more chance to regroup, and became an epic of Chinese history. Congratulations. EN
