Three daughters of King Lear
Short Story Lear, King of Britain, had three daughters; Goneril, wife to the Duke of Albany; Regan, wife to the Duke of Cornwall; and Cordelia, a young maid, for whose love the King of France and Duke of Burgundy were joint suitors, and were at this time making stay for that purpose in the court of Lear.
The King Lear worried about his kingdom. He wanted to share it with his three daughters and to see their careless of him. The first one was Goneril, she said a lot of flattery about her love to father. And the second sister Regan said the same. But Cordelia said that she really felt to father and he was upset because of her words.
• The King Lear decided that he will give a half of his kingdom to Goneril and another part to Regan and the youngest of the sisters Cordelia would not get anything. ( part one is ended )
