Irony n Irony—Definition – An incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result.

The Price of a Slave n Exodus 21: 32 “If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned” n Joseph was sold for the price of a slave his age, Christ was sold for the price of a slave His age.

The Price of a Slave n Matthew 27: 9 – “Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value. ”

Aceldama The Field of Blood n Adam means red, blood and earth n – Magen-Adam-David=The Red Star of David – Edom was Esau, who was red in color – Blood is spilt in both Aceldama and Gethsemane

Aceldama = Blood n Matthew 27: 24 -25 – “I am innocent of the blood of this just person, see ye to it. ” – Then answered all the people and said, “His blood be upon us and our children. ” – Luke 22: 44 “And his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground. ”

Betrayed with a Kiss n A kiss is a sign of trust, love, loyalty, friendship. n Luke 22: 48 – “Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? ”

Killed on His Birthday Jewish Calendar is a lunar based calendar. They have 12 months, with a 13 th month put in 7 x in a 19 year cycle. n Nisan 14 corresponds with April 6 th in our calendars. n

Killed on His Birthday n Easter, BD, pg. 659 – This word occurs only once in the Bible (Acts 12: 4) and then would be better translated passover. The word Easter is from Eastre, a Norse goddess whose pagan festival was observed at the spring equinox. The association of this pagan goddess with the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ was only be adaptation and synthesis. There is no real connection. Jesus, being the Lamb of God, was crucified at passover time and is the true Passover (see 1 Cor. 5: 7). He was raised from the grave on the third day thereafter. It thus became a springtime anniversary, and has come to be called Easter in the Christian world.
