The purpose: To find the answers to such questions as: : -What is the role of youth subcultures for the society development? -How do they influence the life of young men and girls? -Are subcultures in general necessary or do they need to be forbidden?

To show the specificity of formation and development of youth subcultures in Russia. 5. To show the influence of youth subcultures on young people (by the example of young people in Lipetsk) 6. Chapter 1. Subculture as a social phenomenon.
Brief results: The concept of “youth subculture” is multifaceted. But, despite the differences in the interpretation of this concept, all come to the same conclusion: subculture is an integral part of our society. Describing the 4 selected subcultures: - Hippie - Punks - Goths - Skinheads Why I have chosen these subcultures? Firstly, they are the most common youth directions. Secondly, their history, ideology, appearance are all In all very interesting to study. And finally, in my opinion, the followers of these subcultures are interesting both externally and internally.
Chapter 2. The development of youth subcultures in the contemporary Russian society and the impact of youth subcultures on young people.
To find out, what is the impact of youth culture on the development of young people is, I conducted a special study. During my research I interviewed 100 young citizens of Lipetsk. Mainly they were young guys and girls aged 14 to 25 years.

Conclusion: The general reason forming different youth subcultures is dissatisfaction with life, and in the sociological aspect is the crisis of the society, a failure to meet the basic needs of the youth in the process of their socialization. The last reason is the real cause of purely young membership of the informal associations.
