The harm human activity in Donbas is the reasons that the environment in this region is in danger.
The plants and factories in Donbas region put their waste materials into water and atmosphere and pollute the environment.
There are many kinds of transport in Donetsk, Kramatorsk, Lugansk, Mariupol. We have big air pollution in Donbas.
Acid rain is killing vast stretches of forests, fields, rivers. Acid rains have acidified lakes, rivers, and streams making them unable to support fish, wildlife, plants and insects. We pollute the air we breath. Everybody sees smoke coming out of tall factory chimneys. Everybody can smell gas from the back of bus. In big cities of Donbas thousands of automobiles and factories, the power stations may add tons of poison to the atmosphere every day.
Another problem for the big cities in Donbas is our sewage systems. The sewage from many houses, factories, plants, mines pollutes rivers and may even make them die. The rivers in Donbas are in danger as they are also polluted. Fish and animals may disappear and finally in my opinion.
We have the big problem with our food. When we spray the poison it goes on our plants to kill insects, weeds and then onto things people and birds eat. This way we kill ourselves, birds and animals around us.
We must protect our Donbas region from littering. is on danger now. In my mind it is our vital necessity. It is our burning issue. I think that the many scientists in Ukraine, in Donbas have to do everything to protect our region, our environment in Donbas.
In my mind there is much that we can do. Factories, plants, mines in Donbas must clean their smoke. Cars and planes can be done so that they do not pollute the air. The dirty water from the factories and sewage can be made clean again. We must learn not to litter. Old glass and plastic jars and baffles can become new glass and plastic. Old iron can help us to make new cars. Old newspapers can become new paper. We can recycle most of things we do not want or cannot use any more.
For a long time people in our region didn’t think of the future of Donbas. Children and grown ups just must learn to take care of it. I want to remind all in habitants of Donbas saying of English writer John Galsworthy “if you don’t think about the future you will not have it”.
I hope that new generation will find a way out. It’s time for as to be not only environmentconscious but environment-educated.
