The Fairies By: Lauren Markey 3 rd class

Once upon a time there were five fairies in an old oak tree. They were a family. Their names were Da, Ma, Tilly, Clara and Katie.

Katie and Tilly asked their Ma if they could go for a walk. She replied, “yes but be careful”. They said “Bye Ma we will be careful”. “Bye”, said Ma as she watched them leave.

So of they went and they found a family of humans walking too. The wee girl saw Katie and shouted “Mum look I saw a fairy, it was flying by me. ” Mum said “don’t be silly there's no such thing as fairies. ” “Yes there is mum, ” said the wee girl. Katie had quickly hidden behind a large daisy as she was a bit firghtened.

“Ok right lets move on and stop talking”, replied mum. Then they saw the old oak tree. “See mum replied the girl pointing to the oak tree where a fairy was flying about. “Ok it’s the truth”, said Mum “there is such things as fairies”. As they came closer to the tree the little boy said, “ What's in that hole? ” The wee girl said, fairies live in there. ” The wee boy said, “ok can we go in? ” The little girl said, “I don’t know its up to them. ” Dad said, “would we even fit in the hole. ” “We might”, Mum said.

Ma the fairy went into the field to get some wild flowers. The family shouted to her because they had seen the family of humans but she couldn't here them and she continued to go on. The little girl’s mammy shouted when she saw Ma the fairy. Then Ma the fairy turned around very slowly. The wee girl said, “hello can we come in to your house please? ” The Mum tapped her and said don’t ask that but Ma the fairy said it was ok.

So the went in. Ma asked them if the wanted anything to eat. They replied “yes”. Ma gave then some biscuits and tea. Tilly and Clara came home they asked, “who are those people? ” Ma said, that they were a family who were out walking and we invited them in. Tilly and Clara went up stairs. Ma told them to take the boy and girl upstairs to play.

So they went up into the fairies room and the played and played. The adults, Ma and Da had a good chat. The family went home happy that they had met real fairies. They hoped that they would stay friends with the fairies forever.

The little boy and girl had arranged to visit the fairy children again soon. The End
