Compliance with Standards • Standard 1 - The program demonstrates integrity in the following: – Representation to communities and the public – Pursuit of fair and equitable practices – Treatment of, and respect for, students, faculty, and staff. • Standard 2 -The program has sufficient resources to support the quality and effectiveness of the educational process • Standard 3 - The program’s curriculum and academic practices prepare students for professional practice • Standard 4 -The program’s policies and procedures promote the health, safety, and optimal use of radiation for students, patients, and the general public • Standard 5 - The program develops and implements a system of planning and evaluation of student learning and program effectiveness outcomes in support of its mission • Standard 6 - The program complies with JRCERT policies, procedures, and standards to achieve and maintain specialized accreditation
Curriculum • Computed and Digital Technology – Change/adapt/modify positioning patients – Exposure factors are more abstract – Radiation protection “over-exposing” • Positioning – Addition of computed and digital didactic information and removal of film/screen technology – Gallbladder and Biliary duct – T-tube cholangiograms and ERCP’s – Mastoids and petrous pyramids
Curriculum • • Film Tomography Dexa and Mammo Didactic CT CT rotation Clinical hours Variety/Volume/1: 1 capacity
Curriculum • Repeat Policy – The presence of a qualified radiographer during the repeat of an unsatisfactory image assures patient safety and proper educational practices. A qualified radiographer must be physically present during the conduct of a repeat image and must approve the student’s procedure prior to re-exposure. • Indirect/Direct Policy – Students must be under direct supervision while achieving competence. Direct supervision is defined as the registered radiographer must review the request for examination in relation to the student achievement, review the condition of patient in relationship to student’s knowledge, be present during the examination and review and approve the radiographs. Once competency has been achieved, the student will be under indirect supervision. Indirect supervision is defined as the radiographer must review, evaluate and approve procedure and is IMMEDIATELY available
Clinical Electronic System • Trajecsys – Online Time Records, Evaluations, Skill Check-offs and Activity Logs for Educational Programs • • Efficient – eliminates 2 inch binder of paperwork Statistics – time, procedures, performance level Immediate viewing- off-site review User friendly – easy to utilize
