National Technology Platforms (NTPs) European Aims of the NTPs • • To collaborate with National Technology Platforms (NTPs) European Aims of the NTPs • • To collaborate with the ECTP in developing a European Vision 2030, a Strategic Research Agenda and Roadmap for research and innovation in the construction sector by contributing national viewpoints. To establish a network for NTPs to collaborate at a European level, creating an opportunity for a wide range of national stakeholders (including industry, national organisations, SMEs and clients) to learn from each other in areas of best practice, research agendas and national goals. To map national regulations and policies relating to construction and identify barriers to innovation in the sector that can be addressed at a European level. To disseminate knowledge on innovation processes by exchanging national experiences of best practice. To establish communication links between other trans-national research activities (such as ERABUILD and other possible collaborative programmes) and the ECTP. To develop a framework for future networking of construction research infrastructure across the EU member states. Contributions from ERABUILD will be considered as very important input regarding previous items. Assessment for Future Traffic Demands and Longer Lives 7

Advisory Group of Users and Clients – Recommendations to SG • General – User Advisory Group of Users and Clients – Recommendations to SG • General – User and client perspectives should be incorporated in the formulation and assessment of research proposals – Research should have the active participation of users and/or client interests in both execution and the dissemination and application of research outputs – Research should address topics and issues of particular relevance to clients and users • Proposals should – Be formulated with clear user/client involvement – Be interdisciplinary, in that social scientists should be working alongside physical scientists on issues of management, organisation and implementation – Be assessed by experts who can bring client perspectives to the evaluation – Be steered by groupings that include representatives of client and user interests – Have dissemination and implementation strategies that clearly involve client and user interests Seems to be similar to the way Sustainable Bridges is organised!
