The amazing CULTURE OF INDIA
GREETINGS Namaste or Namaskar is a common greeting. Namaste is a folded hand gesture. May be translated in variety of regional languages like Ram in Rajasthan, Jai Shri Krishna in Gujarat.
RELIGION India is home to diversity of Religion. Birthplace of religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism & Jainism. Hinduism is the third largest Religion after Christianity & Islam.
FESTIVALS OF INDIA India is a multi cultural and multi religious society which celebrates many beautiful and colorful festivals. National Holidays like Independence day are celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm on 15 th August every year. Some major festivals are discussed in the next slides.
DIWALI Diwali also known as festival of lights. The biggest festival of India. People clean, renovate & decorate their houses and offices with Rangolis. The houses and cities are bathed in lights with diyas, candles and lamps. People participate in family pooja (prayers) typically to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth & Prosperity. People meet, greet & light crackers.
HOLI Holi is also known as festival of colors. Celebrated in the spring season. Celebration starts the night before holi with holika bonfire. People sing and dance, apply dry color and burst water balloon on each other. People laugh, chit chat and eat several delicacies with signature cocktails such as bhang sharbat.
CUISINE Indian cuisine encompasses a wide variety of regional cuisines with locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Influenced by cultural choices and traditions. Rich in spices, taste and aroma.
