The 2016 summer Olympics in Brazil.
XXXI Summer Olympic games will be held from 5 to 21 August 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This will be the first Olympic games to be held in South America. The choice of the city The application process was launched on 16 may 2007 and ended on 13 September of the same year. Their bids to host the Games gave Baku (Azerbaijan), Doha (Qatar), Madrid (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Tokyo (Japan) and Chicago (USA).
A final vote on the choice of the city was held on 2 October 2009 at the 121 st IOC session in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the voting were used in all possible three rounds and eventually was chosen as Rio de Janeiro.
Olympic venues

The mascot and the logo of the Games A talisman of the future Olympic games became an animal named Vinicius and Tom plant. Both mascot represent diverse flora and fauna of Brazil. Vinicius is the embodiment of all animals living in Brazil, "born from the explosion of joy" from the fact that the country has chosen the Olympic capital. The represents the symbol of the Paralympics and represents a sort of mixture of plants.
In colors the mascots are clearly a recurring theme of the Brazilian flag. The official Olympic logo is an image of three dancing human figures orange, green and blue colors. They all hold hands. Below is the inscription "RIO 2016" and the symbol of all Olympic games - the five interconnected rings.
