TV in Britain l The British like watching game shows with the hosts, who are usually comedians, and with contestants, who try to win prizes, such as holiday, money televisions, cars and so on. In Russian television the adverts can compose more than 30 % of a film time or a chat show, but in Britain it contains about 10 %. I think that soap operas in Britain are more reality than in Russia. The BBC gets its funds from license fee which all owners of the televisions must pay. There are no commercials on BBC programmes. The IBA channels are funded by television educational (commercials).

My favourite television program l l Well? TV is great! It’s a source of education and pleasure. Television now plays an important role in our life. Of course it influences the way people look at the world and share their views. There advantages and disadvantages on television. Television in our country offers us about 18 channels so the programmes are various. There are special channels on it: sport channel, music channel, news, cartoons, children's channel and even special channel for animals. I watch TV from 2 to 4 hours a day. I prefer watching films, musical programmes, cartoons. I really like the TV programme ‘The Most Intelligent’. It’s a source of education and pleasure. It help me to prepare for the lessons and learn new information. I recommend to watch this program.
