Teaching English in Hungary
At our school from the age of 9 -10 (class 4) about 10 -12 students/class in class 4 there are 2 lessons/week in class 5 there are 3 lessons/week in class 6 -8 there are 4 lessons/week
At our school in class 7 and 8 I usually prepare the more talented students for the accredited basic exam (level B 1) one more lesson/week for the students who are going to take the exam → so total 5 lessons/week for them (one lesson separately, 4 lessons together with the whole class)

Class 5 Cardinal numbers (1 -100) Personal pronouns (I, you, he …) Possessive adjectives (my, your, his …) Plurals (regular & irregular) Countries, nationalities Prepositions (in, on, under), There is/There are Countable and uncountable nouns Imperatives Present Simple Time ’s this, that, these, those
Class 6 Ordinal numbers (1 -100) Simple Present, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Past Continuous, Present tenses for the future Prepositions of time Adjectives and Adverbs Comparisons and Superlatives
Class 7 Present Perfect Modals Imperative Pronouns and possessives Prepositions A & THE Preparing for the basic exam
Class 8 There and It Questions Reported questions -ING and TO Go, Get, Do, Make and Have Determiners and Pronouns Word Order Conjunctions and Clauses Preparing for the basic exam
Basic Exam (level B 1) Oral exam: conversation, situation, picture description and listening Writing exam: reading, interposition, letter writing Topics: Family, Home and Housing, Holidays, Daily Routine, Work, Travelling, Traffic and Transport, Health, Eating, Going out, Sports, Schools, Shopping, Computers
Method role-play individual work in groups a lot of homework and regular tests flashcards, board games, quizzes CD-ROMs of the books with additional exercises projects
