That was why higher educational institutions and the Komi branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences were opened in the Republic.

In this hard period of establishing the University we were supported by whole republic and, moreover, by the whole country. 22 of the Union Republics universities gave us nearly half a million books. Our laboratories were equipped free of charge. Well known scientists donated their private librares to our university.

Сenter of artistic creativity TSHT cooperates with the media, organizes concerts, plays, collaborates with institutions of education, culture, community organizations, other universities in Kazakhstan and Russia. Inter -college festivals, which the TSHT takes part in: Theatre Festival "Spring Inspiration", a festival of student songs «Alma mater» , Festival of Singing "lights", "Student Spring". Students of TSHT are involved in urban, Republican, Russian competitions of art.

Museum of our University Zoological Museum of the University of Syktyvkar - Zoological Museum is the only zoological museum in the capital of the KOmi Republic. It was based on a voluntary basis at the Department of Zoology, enthusiastic teachers and students. Since 1987, the museum is open for all viewers. Teachers regularly give tours. Start collecting zoological collections in the Zoological Museum is the opening of the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Chemical and Biological SSU. Museum of our University the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography has more than 40 years old history and is closely associated with the research activities of the university archaeologists and ethnographers. The first collection of the museum appeared in 1973 and was shown at the exhibition.
