Russia - Moscow - Inhabitants: 11, 8 Mio. person (official); unofficial: up to 14 -18 Mio. - Cultural, political and economic hub of Russia - Moscow has the lowest unemployment rate of all federal subjects of Russia, standing at just 1% in 2010, compared to the national average of 7%. The average monthly wage in the city is 41, 600 rubles (€ 1, 070), which is almost twice the national average of 21, 800 rubles (€ 560), and the fourth highest among the federal subjects of Russia. - Moscow is the undisputed financial center of Russia and home to the country's largest banks and many of its largest companies, such as Russia's largest company Gazprom. Russian Economy - Russia has a market economy with enormous natural resources, particularly oil and natural gas. It has the 10 th largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and the 6 th largest by purchasing power parity (PPP). Since the turn of the 21 st century, higher domestic consumption and greater political stability have bolstered economic growth in Russia. The country ended 2008 with its ninth straight year of growth, averaging 7% annually between 2000 and 2008. - Oil, natural gas, metals, and timber account for more than 80% of Russian exports abroad. Our Partner-University «HSE» - The Higher School of Economics was founded on November 27 th, 1992, by an Ordinance of the RF Government. - Over 16 000 students and 587 doctoral students are studying at the HSE.
