GSSEM What’s going on now? • GSUSA/GSSEM Membership declining • Prioritize to build the troop base (grades K-3) & Middle Eastern & Hispanic girls • Fuel the pipeline with Pathway options (grades 5 -12), Events & Series • Recruit adults without school-age children • Council restructuring continues - staff, volunteers, processes, forms, etc. • New brand campaign • GSLE, Pathways & Journey programs

Q & A - GSSEM Kickoff PPT SU 360 • reducing forms, rules & meetings – No trip apps! No financial reports! • Council to co-sign on new troop bank accounts by 2011 • staffing challenged by constant change • changing service unit structure • there will be no United Way funding in 2011/12(GSSEM dues) • all property up for sale – This building will house the Council Shop & staff • recruiting volunteers BEFORE girls • online registration – preloaded with troop information

Q & A – Fall Registration SU 360 • Existing troops, 2 options – Use Re-registering Roster (from Debby) make your own copy of this form as often as needed – After October 1 st, online • New troops – new troop packet (from Debby) – more forms online – To use LC schools as meeting places, $25 application fee & service project form • All registration forms go to Debby • GSSEM desired dues = $8 • Troops keep Health Form, Product Sales permission slip • On-time registration continues until October 1 st in order to be included in the gift certificate drawings.

Q & A – 2010 Updates SU 360 • First Aid & CPR classes no longer offered by GSSEM • Bank Accts – changing signer or closing accounts – send information to Kathy Cecil • Trip Apps no more! • All troops: send Troop/SU Banking Report (in 30 days) • Product Sales permission slip (no Annual Permission Slip) • No more year-end Financial Reports! • Review Volunteer Essentials, GSSEM Policies, Finance Policies • Safety-wise has been replaced. Easy access online! • Many documents in the “forms” section to use as resources (i. e. Transforming leadership, First Five Meetings, volunteer position descriptions, etc. )
Troop / Group Trips GSSEM Effective September 1, 2010: Before planning any kind of trip with the girls, you will need to review and follow the guidelines and regulations in: 1. Volunteer Essentials: Chapter 4 – Safety Wise 2. Volunteer Essentials: Appendix for Travel Volunteer 3. Safety Activity Checkpoints (if applicable) 4. Online training course “Trip and Camp Readiness”
