Research • Practice based research (the activity in the studio) • The collection of images, texts, objects, thoughts or process, that in turn may become the work of art • As above, but sought to feed a particular process • Looking at and examining: ‘Models of…’ contexts, history etc.

Photography - Memory

Research • The collection of texts, images, facts, figures, examples, ideas, similarities, memories… • Specific analysis through writing, exploration, criticism, evaluation, comparison…

Analysis • From the Greek Analusis ‘breaking up’ • For artists the analysis of research would normally occur through ‘process’ • Formally, it may involve the mapping out of the process of ‘another’ in order to define those things that are important • To map out differences by way of exclusion
